An extremely hardy, sub-alpine columbine with deep blue flowers, sometimes tinged with violet, mistakenly given by some as having almost black flowers – it makes you wonder….These are seeds from garden grown plants which are originated from wild collected seeds in the Carpathian Mts., seen in the images. The best next thing to wild collected seeds!
Like many other columbines it adapts well to garden conditions, but would keep best its character if grown on the lean side in the rock/scree garden.
Germination: easy, sown in the fall or spring, very superficial – seeds require light for germination. You can speed the process by using GA3.
