Description
This is a non-climbing Clematis that needs a nearby support: house wall or trellis. In mid- summer it becomes covered in a cascade of white, extremely fragrant flowers.
Smell, like colour, can be highly subjective, but after it also flowered in my garden this summer, I would say it resemble crushed almond pits (fresh).
Other people are also saying about it that is “smaller and hardier than Sweet Autumn clematis” (C. terniflora) – so many qualities!
Germination: best sown in the fall (cold/moist stratification).
