This is a beautiful larkspur with deep blue flowers on branched stems and finely cut leaves. It has a long flowering season from July to August, and it will often flower in the first year when grown from seeds. It is a variable species in the wild; we would have liked to have to one that stays 30 cm tall – maybe next time. It is hard to differentiate it from another Chinese species – Delphinium grandiflorum, with which is closely related.
An excellent, floriferous Delphinium for a flower bed.
Germination: easy, sown in early spring, it may flower in the first year.
