All spindle trees are unsurpassed for the fall colours of their leaves and fruits, but this one in particular has probably the brightest pink capsules while also revealing the red to orange arilate seeds. The foliage doesn’t get as red in the fall as in other Euonymus, but the corky, winged stems are very ornamental and continue the décor throughout the winter.
A very beautiful Euonymus to be planted as a specimen.
Germination: best with 3-4 months of warm-moist stratification (around 10˚C) followed by 3-4 months cold stratification (4˚C). Given the fact that the seeds mature in late fall, seeds sown either in the fall or spring will most probably germinate in the second year.
