This rattlesnake plantain forms a rosette of lanced to oval shaped leaves, dark green with white midrib; they can also present a net-like venation. Usually, in colonies, plants presenting both type of leaves are present. The flowers are small, white on a +/- 30 cm tall inflorescence.
Germination: like for all orchids, difficult and best to use ‘in vitro’ techniques. Few people claim they have germinated them by sowing close to another orchid in the garden, where the soil already contains the necessary mycorrhiza.
