Spurred Gentian is an annual plant unfortunately, but it self-seeds delicately for the next years if it likes the place. It has lance shaped narrow leaves, tinged with purple and very interesting flower clusters with purplish green flowers that look like space ships ready to engage!
It will flower from July to September, depending on the region – something to look forward to at the end of summer! A gentian with a subtle look that needs a part-shaded and slightly moist location in the garden.
Germination: by extrapolating with other species from the same family, it needs cold-moist stratification (if not sown in the fall) and superficial sowing.
