This is Helenium autumnale in its pure, wild form! I am not saying that some Helenium cultivars are not nice, but why not growing them together for a colourful fall display? They are all great pollinators plants.
Folklore: sneezeweed’s common name came from the belief that a powder made from the leaves will induce sneezing; also some have used in the past the powdered disk flowers and leaves as ‘snuff’.
Germination: fall sowing or spring after cold-moist stratification.
