The rusty saxifrage is a variable species with wedge to spoon-shaped leaves in basal rosettes. The specimens growing in full sun have beautiful reddish leaf rosettes.
Attractive flowers in panicles; white to purplish with the 3 upper petals having 2 yellow spots. The calyces are ageing to a rusty-red colour.
Germination: sow in the fall (moist/cold stratification).
