Last year I offered Scabiosa caucasica ‘Fama Blue’ and ‘Fama White’, with the mention that the off springs may not all come true to colour. I also raised my own seedlings and I can say for certain. Fama Blue flowered with a lighter blue/lavender colour; Fama White did flowered white indeed.
I think it is fair to offer the seeds as just ‘Fama’. The flowers can be from blue, to lavender (like the type caucasica) or white.
No matter what colour, I think this is an outstanding perennial; the largest flowers possible and blooming throughout the summer into late fall – I wish I was a butterfly…
Germination: easy, warm germinator; it will flower in the first year if started early enough in the spring.
