Description
A tall shrub with maple-like leaves and beautiful showy white flowers followed by equally showy red fruits in the fall.
The foliage takes beautiful shades of purple in the fall. Some consider it a subsp. of the European V. opulus. Adaptable but prefers moist locations.
Medicinal and edible usage: the fruits have a high content of vit. C and great to use for making tasty jelly; the bark has been also used medicinally.
Germination: like for most Viburnums, warm/cold cycles, so expect germination in the second year after sowing.
