Ranunculaceae

This is a diverse family, fruits/seeds wise and with many species cultivated as ornamentals. It is quite impossible to use the fruits/seeds as ID for some genera, let’s say Actaea, Aquilegia…On the other hand, Anemone narcissiflora and its subsp., often misidentified in seeds exchanges, are easily distinguished from A. multifida and such other sp. with ‘fluffy’ achenes.
The galleries will only provide for now a glimpse into the amazing variety of fruits/seeds. In many cases, the so-called ‘seeds’ are actually fruits (achenes).
