Description
A variety of hog peanut that is more robust, has larger leaflets (terminal leaflets can be as long as 10 cm) and white or pink flowers. Shoots and seed pods are covered in tawny hairs.
There is also a difference in the growing habit: while A. bracteata remains mostly as a ground cover or twine delicately around nearby plants, var. comosa is more aggressive and has a pronounce tendency of climbing in the nearby plants like seen in the image. So, be careful where you intend to grow it.
Germination: easy with pre-soaking of the seeds in warm water before sowing (light scarification can also be used); warm germinator, slow to germinate. Hot water treatment can also be applied.
