Description
Same like for the regular A. tuberosa, just that the flowers are bright, yellow.
I missed to take a good picture with the large, rich yellow umbels of flowers. I don’t remember the cultivar name, there is one ‘Hello Yellow’ which would be a good name for it because that’s what you feel like saying when it blooms – hello yellow!
The only drawback of this plant is that it appears very late, somewhere in June, so place it carefully in the garden. Otherwise, it grew in full sun, it grows in part-shade, dry or with more moisture, doesn’t seem to care much.
Germination: sown in late fall outdoors or in the spring after cold/moist stratification; it will take maybe 2-3 years to start flowering.
Update: 2 years old seeds (or older) of Asclepias tuberosa-yellow will germinate after one week at room temp. 65-70F = 18-21C.
