Germination: most Astragalus species I’ve tried had germinated at room temperature after using the Hot water treatment. But it is possible some species to also require a cold/moist stratification period. Scarification of the seeds followed by sowing in late fall/winter will satisfy this demand.
Fabaceae seedlings & plants dislike transplanting; for this reason, direct sowing outdoors in late fall can also be tried. Or, use for sowing peat-pots or other kind of pots that can be planted whole in the ground.
