Description
Although you won’t see them cultivated much in Canada, all Bupleurum spp. are great plant fillers for the perennial garden.
The hare’s ear has bright yellow, later bronzed tinted, tiny flowers surrounded by small bracts borne in characteristic umbels (they resemble somewhat an Euphorbia inflorescence); they are loved by pollinators.
A bright and cheerful plant that can be also used as cut flower. It may self-seed if it likes the place.
Germination: cold/moist stratification.
