Description
This is a smaller size, compact Ceanothus than C. americanus, with smaller leaves, pubescent on the underside; white flowers in dense, more rounded clusters. It is found growing in drier habitats than C. americanus, in full sun locations.
Otherwise, everything the same, wildlife and medicinal value, drought resistant. It can be used as specimen, groups or for hedges. Especially suitable for smaller spaces with full sun locations.
Germination: I suppose the same method used for C. americanus will work: soak the seeds in hot water, followed by 2 months cold-moist stratification (4˚C). Fall sowing (cold/moist stratification) without hot water treatment – will give good results as well, but it will take longer for the seeds to germinate.
