Description
Clematis hexapetala is a non-twining species , with abundant, white with 5-6 petaled flowers (hence the name) throughout the summer and early fall. The leathery leaves are pinnatisect, with both surfaces sparsely pubescent to subglabrous.
The mother-plant was grown from a wild coll. seeds in Primorye, quite a few years ago. It is the first time setting enough seeds to share.
C. hexapetala is very cold hardy and also drought resistant by the look of it. It can be grown among the perennial beds or let it drape over the edge of a wall/rockery boulders.
Germination: sow in late fall/early winter.
