Description
A late summer blooming NA native species with many fragrant small flowers, followed by the attractive seeds heads. Fast growing and does well even with a considerable amount of shade! Larval host of the clematis clearwing moth.
C. terniflora (Sweet autumn Clematis – non-native) is many times offered by garden centers as Clematis virginiana!
Germination: cold/moist stratification; sow in late fall/winter.
