Description
A vigorous Corydalis with especially large leaves (comparing with other Corydalis). It is considered a tetraploid from of Corydalis cava. A Corydalis collector’s item.
The color of the flowers can be cream, pale yellow or a very light red (a so called fo. purpurea-lilacina), probably depending on the wild habitat.
I grew it as a mix of Corydalis marschalliana, and it also grows like this in the garden, so the seedlings can come in either colors. There are also C. solida plants nearby, so hybridizing maybe be possible?; in any case the seedlings are easy to recognize in this case after the large leaves and also the when in flower after the entire flower bracts.
Germination and growing the seedlings: explained in detail here – Growing Corydalis solida & allies from seeds.
