Description
A biennial or short lived perennial foxglove growing from a rosette of lanced shaped leaves.
I have seen this subspecies in flower and it is most impressive with a narrower flowering stem than the type; smaller but deeper in color flowers (this may also depend on the origin).
Like all other biennial Digitalis species it makes good focal points in a part-shaded location; medicinal/toxic.
Germination: sow in late fall/winter or early spring; very easy from seeds.
