Description
A delicate looking Fritillaria with bright yellow nodding flowers in very early spring; said to be flowering soon after the snow melt.
A good candidate for the rock garden, requires full sun/light shade and a well-drained, gravelly soil.
It grows from a scaly bulb, edible if you are in need.
Germination: according to the Frits experts the best time to sow Fritillaria sp. is in the fall: Aug-mid Sept. to mid October. Seeds received later are better kept in the fridge and sowed in next fall or can be stratified in moist vermiculite in the fridge 2-3 months; it works well.
