Description
The Greater fringed gentian in bloom is a sight to behold in late summer with its large, mauve and with fringed petals flowers. It is a biennial species: will form a rosette of leaves in the first season, and then flower in the second year from August to September depending on location, with a magnificent flower display!
If happy with the place (moisture) it will delicately self-seed and continue the flower display year after year.
Germination: sown in the fall or spring after cold-moist stratification; seeds are very small and need to be sown superficially.
