Description
As the common name implies, Gladiolus tenuis is a species with a delicate aspect, flowering in June with spires of deep pink to violet flowers with violet veines; the slender stems have shorter, narrow leaves.
New cormlets will regularly form around the old corm, so a good way for increasing a clump after you obtain few plants from seeds.
A moist location is needed for it to develop and grow well, reason why my plants took their time to flower in a spot too dry for their liking. The mother-plant was raised from wild collected seeds.
Germination: with cold/moist stratification about 3 months. Not a difficult species to grow.
