Description
Manna grass is a cool season, rhizomatous species with long, flat, narrow leaves and panicles with few drooping spikelets.
It is an important plant for the wetland ecosystems: wildlife and erosion control.
The common name comes from the fact that the seed can be ground into flour and used for bread making (a little inferior to wheat bread), also used as a thickener in soups.
Germination: probably with cold/moist stratification, sow in late fall/early winter. As far as my experience goes, most sedges are very easy to grow from seeds.
