Description
I am happy to offer seeds of this old form of Hepatica nobilis, found many years ago around the Lake Garda in Italy by Walter Peters (of Peters Staudengartnerei from Germany).
It is a vigorous, floriferous form with large blue flowers and marbled leaves in early spring; the marbling fades in the summer.
My plants were raised from seeds so variations from the original form is possible; hence the ex. before the name.
It is good to revive and maintain in cultivation older varieties (for all species) which otherwise will get lost.
Germination:
Hepatica seeds may all germinate in the first spring after sowing; or they may germinate after one more year, or a combination of both. It is necessary to take care of the pots during all this time! The first flowering: after 3-4 years.
