Description
With a roundish mound of mint scented leaves and abundant flowers, the mountain wild mint is a nice encounter in various montane habitats. The Monarda look-alike flowers can be lavender, purple to pinkish/white with a strong mint fragrance.
Excellent drought resistance and visited by a wide range of pollinators. It doesn’t spread by rhizomes so do not be alarmed by the name ‘wild mint’.
Germination: moist/cold stratification (sow in late fall/early winter).
