Description
I grew this Alyssum species from a wild seeds collection done in Dobrogea (ROM) a few years ago. For the sake of following the rules it is given under its new name here. Apparently it was moved into Odontarrhena based on the one-seeded fruit. What’s in a name, eh?
A miniature Alyssum with silvery-gray small leaves and inflorescences of rich yellow flowers; for a full sun location and very good drainage, together with Minuartia, Sedums and other-like species.
A collector’s item for the rock garden, troughs, alpine house. Easy to grow from seeds, fast flowering and it seems to remain in flower for months due to the small flowers opening gradually.
Germination: warm germinator. Careful with the tiny seedlings; best to grow them ‘as such’ in the sowing pot and plant the whole bunch in the rockery.
