Description
A large Primula with a rosette of large leaves and tall flowering stems with many butter yellow to orange fragrant flowers. It will flower in the summer.
I grew this species once and lost it, most probably due to drought given the location. If I am to grow it again I would plant it in another spot ;) So, a species better enjoyed by those with a moist spot in the garden.
Germination: it can be tried directly at room temp. (cover lightly), or after a short period of cold/moist stratification.
I like to sow most Primulas in February, give them 1 month of cold/moist stratification and then bring them indoors for germination in March. If you can only start seeds outdoors, start the stratification in March to obtain germination in April-May.
