Description
Because Primula x polyantha does so well in our cold but with hot, humid summers climate, a few years ago I proceeded to raising more from seeds.
Although I hand-pollinated these forms, there is no color guarantee for the seedlings.
They are vigorous specimens with a long flowering period, super tough and thriving in almost any conditions; they will go partially dormant if it gets too dry in the summer.
Germination: after 1 month of cold moist stratification. I usually sow in February (sow superficial), keep the pots at cold and bring them inside for germination somewhere in March/April. The pots can also be left outdoors and they will germinate with the raise of temp. in late spring.
