Description
A beautiful wild rose with exquisite glaucous-purple foliage that becomes purplish in the fall. Single pink flowers are followed by red hips; the stems have very few thorns.
If I would have more garden space that’s a species I would definitely grow. It is an excellent large Rosa species to use as a specimen or in small groups, attractive year-long due to the glaucous foliage; the only maintenance required is pruning.
Germination: cold/moist stratification for 3-4 months, sow in late fall; scarification would improve/speed up the germination.
Keep your pot for 2 years, most Rosa species will still germinate over a few years, especially if the seeds have not been scarified.
