Description
A most easy and showy foliage plant for the edge of the shade garden, or as a ‘filler’ plant. It combines well and grows happily together with many other native plants: the mayapple, Sanguinaria, Uvularia, Trillium to name just a few, or under trees by itself.
Finely divided foliage with the airy texture that any Thalictrum species have and temporarily showy flowers, especially on the male plants (dioecious) – on pendent green-yellow panicles.
The fine foliage usually takes a nice yellow color in late fall. It will reseed in place.
Germination: sown in the fall/early winter (cold/moist stratification); it can also be sowed ‘in situ’ in late fall.
