Description
A small, compact growing violet with pink/lilac fragrant flowers in early spring. The common name comes from its native habitat in the Transilvanian region of Romania.
A delightful viola for the rockery or a trough. It may reseed around if it likes the place but not in excess.
Germination: some say it requires cold/moist stratification (sow in the fall/early winter), some give it as warm germinator.
From personal experience, I think some seeds may germinate at warm (if sown right away) and some after a cold period. Be patient.
