Description
Golden Alexander it is another NA native species under -appreciated garden wise.
The flowers are yellow, tiny, disposed in flat inflorescences on top of tall stems. The whole plant has a very fine aspect and with a long flowering period. A good pollinator species and food plant for the black swallowtail caterpillars.
It can be grown in a light shaded location or in full sun.
Germination: sow in late fall/early winter; cold/moist stratification 3-4 months.
Update: seeds sown in the fall outdoors (November) will promptly germinate in the spring (April/May). Do not be scared, the seedlings don’t really resemble their mother-plants in the first year! :)
