Description
If there can be something even more beautiful than D. superbus, then is the subsp. sajanense with its crimson red, fringed and fragrant flowers.
The flowers seem to explode atop +/- 30 cm tall stems in late May/June – magnet for the butterflies!
Exquisite, and I use this word only for plants that make a special impression on me.
Good in a slightly moist location, or where you water more frequently in full sun to part shade (a bit of protection from the afternoon sun is best in hot regions).
Germination: better after one month of cold, but can also be tried as a warm germinator.
