Description
Jurinea mollis has a ‘thistle-like’ appearance but the finely lobed leaves are non-spiny, and it remains in a tight clump. The flower heads are purple (in various shades) and take on a beautiful silky appearance when the seeds are ripened. Great for pollinators.
I thought first to be J. mollis ssp. transylvanica after considering the leafless stems and seeds aspect but the anthodial bracts are not glabrous , so probably an intermediate form.
Germination: warm germinator at room temp. (+/- 20C).
