Description
A late summer blooming native Clematis with many fragrant small flowers. They are followed by the fluffy, attractive seeds heads in late fall! Fast growing and it does well even with a considerable amount of shade! Larval host of the clematis clearwing moth.
Good companions: Lindera, Campanulastrum americanum, Lobelia siphilitica, Arisaema triphyllum…
Be aware that Clematis terniflora (Sweet autumn Clematis, a non-native species) it is many times offered by garden centers as Clematis virginiana!
