Description
This subspecies of A. rubra differs from A. rubra (subsp. rubra) by having a more robust habit (height, size of the leaves) and fruits with longer pedicels, among others.
Not only they differ morphologically, but sometimes they can be found growing in locations receiving a fair amount of sun.
Germination: a slightly warm cycle/ followed by a cold one so when sown in late fall/winter, like it often happens, will germinate in the second spring after sowing. Sown in late summer- early fall, chances are they will germinate in the first spring. The seedlings are fast growing; you can expect flowers/first fruits in the 3th year.
