Description
A bright Arnica with gold-yellow cheerful flowers and basal leaves heart-shaped (hence the name), they become lance shaped above on the flower stems.
It is mentioned that it can hybridize with Arnica latifolia and specimens can present intermediate characters.
The seeds were collected in SE BC and may belong to A. cordifolia var. pumila; this has been recognized by some botanists after the following characters: plants smaller in size, +/- heart-shaped leaves and more glandular achenes.
Germination: sow in late fall/early winter.
