Description
I don’t have wild collected seeds of this bellflower yet, but the plant in my garden looks just like those from the Carpathian Mts. and it is a good substitute for now.
This is a regular Campanula carpatica, not from the Clips series, so it has a natural growing habit.
Very popular for a while and then ignored, Campanula carpatica is a very easy to grow bellflower that will flower for weeks on end in the summer, especially if you remove the spent flowers.
It can be placed almost anywhere, sun to part shade, preferably in a rockery or at the edge of the flower bed; also suitable for container growing. Keep it lean and it will flower exuberantly throughout the summer with numerous cup-shaped, violet blue, upward flowers!
Germination: easy; good beginner plant.
