Description
Clematis hexapetala is a non-twining species, with abundant, white with 5-6 petaled flowers (hence the name) throughout the summer and early fall. The leathery leaves are pinnatisect, with both surfaces sparsely pubescent to subglabrous. The seed-heads are very fluffy at maturity, very ornamental in the fall.
The mother-plant was grown from a wild coll. seeds in Primorye, quite a few years ago.
This is a very cold hardy and also drought resistant Clematis by the look of it. It can be grown in the perennial beds with some support or let it drape over the edge of a wall/rockery boulders.
Germination: sow in late fall/early winter.
