Description
A mix of Corydalis solida mix in all colors, mainly lovely reds and pinks, plus a dash of Corydalis malkensis!
This offering keeps very well with the reality of Corydalis solida and allies: they will cross pollinate so despite best efforts to keep them separate mixed colors will always appear. You can select very nice forms afterwards.
Nothing says spring is here better than the fleshy, ferny foliage of Corydalis solida, followed by colorful spurred flowers. Once you establish a few, they will multiply by themselves in a rainbow of colors.
Very economical to do from seeds, especially for naturalizing. True colors can be maintained only if multiplied from bulbs; the seedlings will vary greatly but are all delightful.
Germination and growing of the seedlings: explained in detail here – Growing Corydalis solida & allies from seeds.
In the gallery: 1 and two years old seedlings. It can also be sown directly in the garden – incorporate the seeds into the ground, close to a perennial/fern, or anywhere else you know no new plantings will be done to disturb the dormant seedlings and where you water during dry spells.
