Description
Henderson’s shooting star blooms in very early spring with magenta, lavender or white flowers with a yellow or whitish tube & thick, wavy, reddish/purple ring. The cluster of flowers appear on top of a leafless stem and later the seed capsules resemble small upright cups.
Either we call it Dodecatheon or Primula, it remains the same lovely spring wildflower!

It enjoys a dry summer rest, reason why sometimes it vanishes from the garden in our region; grow it close to a larger perennial, shrubs which will use the excess water when the Dodecatheon is dormant.
Germination: sown in the fall or spring after cold-moist stratification; the seeds are small and require superficial sowing.
