Description
The spoonleaf sundew has a wide distribution and as the common name suggests, it forms a stemless rosette of spathulate leaves covered by the typical sticky glands used to attract and trap the insects.
To be cultivated in peat bogs, pond edges, in a carnivorous plants container. It also requires an acidic substrate.
Combine it with Drosera linearis and Utricularia cornuta for a carnivorous combo!
Germination: easy with cold-moist stratification for 1-2 months. The seeds are very small, and it is best to place them on top of moist sphagnum moss or peat in a small pot, enclose it in a Ziploc bag and put it in the fridge. After the cold period, place the pot under lights and check periodically the moisture level in the Ziploc. After a few weeks miniatural Drosera plants will appear; the Ziploc bag has to be opened gradually until the plants are big enough and then removed.
Direct sowing can also be tried.
