Description
Miss Willmott’s ghost Eryngium doesn’t need much presentation I think, but for just in case, it is a large, thistle-like looking biennial species with a basal rosette of evergreen leaves (first year) and flower heads with tiny flowers in the second year atop most attractive silver-gray, spiny bracts. A spectacular species enjoyed by pollinators.
It grows well in full sun and forms a taproot, so best not to be moved after planting. You can sow 1/2 of the seeds pck. in 2 successive years to ensure you have flowering plants on-going.
Germination: sow in the fall (cold/moist stratification).
