Description
The tallest Lilium species from NA, very much like a L. michiganense on steroids. Downward facing orange flowers with brownish spots. I only have a very young plant just reaching flowering age, but there are many mouth watering pictures over the net: Lilium superbum images
Prefers moist locations in the garden in sun to part-shade.
Germination: warm moist period (2-3 months) during which it will germinate and form a tiny bulb, followed by a cold-moist period, after which it will send up the first leaf.
You can find a detailed overview of germinating lilies on the Pacific Bulb Society website.
