Description
This Lomatium has a rather limited wild distribution; only by chance we stumbled upon it on Mt. Baldy in SE BC. And more good luck, due to the extreme hot weather the seeds were also ripen. Few were collected more on the purpose of identification, and of course the surplus is to share.
Conservation through propagation – always!
Actually not much was left of the whole plant, which otherwise presents a nice, ferny-like foliage like most biscuitroots and bright yellow flowers in dense umbels (see it on: E-BC flora)
A biscuitroot for those who like to grow more unusual plants in the rockery. You can also try Eremogone capillaris var. americana which was growing nearby.
Germination: probably moist/cold stratification (ie. sow in late fall, at least that’s what I will do).
Update: 2 months of cold/moist stratification (fridge OK).
