Description
Flowers with a striking red eye over magenta petals; one of my favourite.
Grown from seeds initially as P. pulverulenta, it is without doubt a hybrid, so we should call it as it is. Usually P. pulverulenta will hybridise with P. japonica when grown together. And there is nothing wrong with it!
Just like P. japonica, it requires a moist location to grow well, otherwise it will be short lived.
Germination: sow in the fall or spring (after cold/moist stratification for at least 1 month).
