Description
This is an interesting color form obtained from seeds of P. styriaca one year. Some pink with a tinge of orange, let’s call it coral.
It has the same large flowers and very early spring flowering, but it could also be a hybrid, hard to tell. It flowers profusely but it won’t form too many seeds (which may be due to the very early flowering when it is still cold).
No guarantee the seedlings will come true to color but worth the try since it is easy to grow.
Germination: seeds sown right away will usually germinate in 2-3 weeks and grow in good size seedlings until fall if: you sow superficial (the seeds need light for germination) and keep the sowings moist. Sow the seeds on top of the mix cover very lightly and enclose the pot in a loose plastic bag. When you notice the first signs of germination, open the bag gradually. Check the moisture level all the time.
