Description
The Sierra pink currant is a very adaptable species regarding the soil and like most currants can easily grow in shaded locations.
A multistem deciduous shrub with beautiful pink/red fragrant flowers in pendulous inflorescences which are attractive to many pollinators. Edible, blue, glandular berries.
Germination: the small seeds have hard seed coats; soaking in water for a week or two before sowing may improve the germination. In any case they require a cold/moist stratification for at least 3 months; the seeds which remain dormant may germinate over 2-3 years.
