Description
A mix of seeds from Roscoea purpurea group plants, therefore the seedlings will have flowers in various shades of red and purple; also the stems are purple.
Roscoea purpurea is a vigorous species with thicker stems, often purple and larger flowers. In a rich substrate with good care will form attractive clumps after a few years. In the early stages the tubers must be grown in well-drained substrate (in pots).
Germination: Roscoea species are warm germinators (room temp.). Soak the seeds for a few days before sowing, and spread them thinly over the mix: they need space to grow for one/two seasons in the same pot (ie. do not prick out the seedlings in the first year!). The seedlings will grow for a few months and then become dormant for the rest of the season (avoid over watering when dormant).
